Enlighening, Whitening & Brightening

ENLIGHTENING? WHITENING? BRIGHTENING?

Our Swissforce® Age Spot & Skin Brightening White Serum is renowned for its effectiveness in "brightening" the skin, and we often receive questions from users who may confuse this with "whitening," "lightening," and "bleaching." Therefore, we're here to clarify any misconceptions.

The terms "whitening," "lightening," and "bleaching" are commonly used in the skincare product market today. In essence, they describe the same thing. Here's a breakdown of these terms:

"Whitening" essentially equals "bleaching," with the latter being more commonly used in the past decades.

The degree of reduced melanin production is what distinguishes "brightening" from "whitening."

"Brightening" describes a more gradual and gentle approach with less pronounced effects, whereas "whitening" implies a more intensive and aggressive method.

Both "brightening" and "whitening" typically involve the use of tyrosinase inhibitors to inhibit melanin production.

However, "whitening" (or "bleaching") often employs intense inhibitors like hydroquinone and retinoids to strip the skin of melanin.

Our Age Spot & Skin Brightening White Serum focuses on a gentle and gradual brightening approach, ensuring effectiveness without compromising the health and balance of the skin. It's formulated to address hyperpigmentation, age spots, and uneven skin tone without the harshness associated with traditional "whitening" or "bleaching" products.

While "brightening" is an entirely different matter. Here's why:

1. Due to our skin's natural function of producing new cells to replace older ones, the accumulation of dead skin cells on the surface can make the skin appear less radiant.

2. Through the exfoliation process, dead skin cells are removed to rejuvenate the skin, making it appear "brighter" and less dull.

3. Our "brightening" serum achieves this by utilizing active ingredients such as SulforaWhite, which suppresses melanin production by blocking melanin-stimulating hormone receptors, a berry complex with powerful antioxidant properties to reduce oxidative stress caused by UV light, and Royal Epigen P5, which accelerates skin regeneration.

A "bright" complexion is often associated with a lively and vibrant appearance, while a "whiter" complexion is more perceived as pale and having a lighter skin tone.

However, examining ingredient lists rather than prioritizing how a product is labeled and advertised is crucial to impart specific effects on your skin. Be cautious of ingredients like hydroquinone and retinoid acids more common than you might realize in "whitening" products, as they can potentially damage the skin in the long run.

At Farmachem, we offer products formulated with both natural and Swiss-made ingredients of the highest quality at reasonable prices. Explore our skin-brightening product: Swissforce® Age Spot & Skin Brightening White Serum.
